Coaching PE in schools

Derbyshire Sport advocate the Association for PE (afPE) and Department for Education recommendation that coaches employed in schools should only work under the supervision of a qualified teacher, when coaching a PE lesson. afPE are also working towards an ambition that every coach working in schools will also hold a 1st4Sport Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning in PE and School Sport (QCF).

Due to the number of requests we receive to advertise sports coaching roles in schools and the lack of knowledge and clarity we often have in terms of what the coaching role will entail, Derbyshire Sport has chosen not to advertise these type of job opportunities at the current time.
