James is a 14-year-old skier from Chellaston who competes in the Moguls, Slopestyle and Half Pipe classifications. He finished third man overall at the international event, the Home Nations Academy, before becoming British Champion for men's singles moguls, which has helped him earn selection for the Home Nations Academies for both Moguls and Freestyle.
James says: "I have been skiing since I was six years old and competing since I was nine. My proudest moments so far are winning the title of British Men's Singles Mogul Champion in Austria this year and winning second place in The Lowland's Moguls Cup.
"The Lowlands Cup is an international event held in Austria and, even though I was eligible to compete in my age group, my coach wanted me to competed as a pro man. I am really hoping to build on this success in moguls and aspire to be selected to the GB Team for the World Junior Games in 2018.
"I was also re-selected to the Home Nations Academy for Park and Pipe. As I now divide my time between disciplines, I do not compete as much at P&P as I used to. However, I won a silver medal at the Scottish Indoors 2015-16 and finished ninth man overall in the Halfpipe at the British Championships and was ranked fifth male overall in the British Snow Tour last season.
"With the help of ICON, I hope to continue training both in the gym, on the dry slopes and on the mountain. My main aim for the year is to be selected to the National Academy for both disciplines and as I said above be selected to the GB Team."
