He is on the GB Park and Pipe world class programme and has competed at several International World Cup level events, having won The British Ski Halfpipe Championships a total of five times.
James says: "I discovered freestyle skiing at the Sheffield Ski Village Freestyle Park when he was six years old, which is where his love for freestyle skiing was sealed.
"I have won just about every Halfpipe-related domestic competition there is to win for skiers, including the British Halfpipe Championship, which I havwes won an unprecedented five times. I was the first British skier to ever compete on the Winter Dew Tour.
"I have also placed very well in international competitions, such as the FIS World Cup circuit and eighth in the US Open.
"In 2012, I ruptured my anterior cruciate ligament which required surgery. Ie developed a mis-diagnosed infection which was life threatening and required further knee surgery, which was a 12 months recovery.
"Despite this, I successfully returned to the Halfpipe just two months before the 2014 Winter Olympics. I then fractured my thumb during the last Olympic qualifying event, qualifying for the Olympics in a cast.
"I am now aiming for the World Championships, Spain in 2017 and the next Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea 2018."
