Jade Ashmore

Jade is an 18-year-old boxer from Heath, who fights for Chesterfield ABC and has won a British Championships silver medal, along with a silver at the English National Championships. She is also ranked second in Britain for her weight and has made her debut for the senior England Boxing squad during the last 12 months.

Jade says: "My first year as a junior I won my first national title at 54kg. I studied at Bradford College doing an elite boxing programme and studying sports coaching, in those two years at I made my first international debut for England V France, from then I boxed in Serbia, made the England youth boxing team, won bronze in the youth championships, boxed in Ireland, Hungary, Bulgaria, and then Sweden for the EM. I won a bronze in the Europeans, bronze in Bulgaria. I got Best Sportswomen for NE Derbyshire, and was a finalist at the Bradford Sports Awards. I moved down my weight category from 54kg to 51kg, made the senior England team, won the Derbyshire challenge belt for my first senior bout, won silvers in the Elite Championships and British Championships, then I won the English title belt. I also got called up for GB assessments."
