George is a 21-year-old golfer from Chapel-en-le-Frith and a member of Cavendish Golf Club who has represented England in 2016 and reached ninth in the Order of Merit for men's golf. He finished second in the prestigious English Amateur Championship that lists Danny Willett Nick Faldo and Paul Casey among its former winners and tied for 35th at the European Amateur Championship.

George says: "I am currently ranked seventh in the English Men's Golf Order of merit and rreached the final of the English Mens Amateur Championship this year where I was narrowly beaten in the epic 36-hole final.

"I also came second in the North of England Amateur Championship and sixth in the Scottish Open, securing a personal invite to play in the prestigious St Andrews Links Trophy.

"I train every day when not in competitions under the guidance of John Cook and The Derbyshire Institute of Sport, where I receive excellent tuition from Steve Astle and the strength and conditioning team.

"As a result of my achievements this year, I have been selected to play for England and will be in the England A Squad for the next two years.

"My ambition is to turn professional and play on the European Tour."
