The 16-year-old hockey player, from Ambaston, was a member of the Beeston U16 team which were crowned National Indoor Hockey Champions and National Outdoor Hockey Champions in 2014 and 2015.
Gareth says: "I am currently training with the National Age Groups Academy on Monday evenings for two hours, which includes past, current and future England Under-16 to Under-18 international hockey players.
"On Tuesday and Thursday evenings, I train for two hours with my club team, Beeston, who play in the English Premier League.
"On Wednesdays, I train and play indoor hockey matches for the Beeston Under-18 boys team. This team were the National Indoor and Outdoor Champions last year at Under-16 level.
"At weekends, I play matches for Beeston's first and second teams.
"This season, I would like to win the Indoor and Outdoor National Finals with the Beeston Under-18 team and continue with the England Under-17 training programme (National Age Group Academies and the Academy and Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence programme).
"I would also like to make regular appearances for Beeston first Team (Premiership side) and score 20 goals or more this season in all competitions.
"My sporting ambitions are to play for the England Under-18 Men's team in 2017 and progress from that side into the Great Britain Under-21 men's team.
"I would like to play for the England and Great Britain senior men's team one day in the future and represent them at the Olympic Games, Hockey World Cup, Hockey Champions Trophy and Commonwealth Games."
