Race for Life 2008
Later this year the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event - Race for Life - is returning to Derbyshire.
Organised by Cancer Research UK, Race for Life events are open to women of all levels of fitness.
Within Derbyshire, events have so far been confirmed to be held at:
- Darley Park, Derby
Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11 - Bakewell Showground
Sunday, May 18 - Donington Park, Derby
Wednesday, July 2
Each event allows participants to run, jog or walk a 5km course.
There is no prize for first place and almost half the participants choose to walk the course.
Last year, 665,000 women took part in 280 venues across the UK between May and July.
