British Heart Foundation Dark Peak Challenge Bike Ride

A new challenging 42 mile bike ride in the PeakDistrictNational Park starting and finishing near Lady Bower Reservoir in Bamford, HopeValley. Your first challenge is the strenuous 6 mile climb up SnakePass to 1600 feet above sea level. Here you’ll reach the moorland plateau between Kinder Scout and Bleaklow where the views are spectacular. On a clear day you can see over to the city of Manchester. Follow the famous Trans Pennine Trail for 14 miles from Glossop to Langsett, then head up hill and down dale for 17 miles to the finish. There are 17 miles off road on this ride and a mountain bike is recommended. Due to the nature of the challenge, places are limited to 300 participants. Please register early to avoid disappointment. Entry fee is £30 per person and is not suitable for the under 18’s.
