Emma is a 25-year-old table tennis player from Borrowash who is studying at Liverpool John Moores University and hopes to appear at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She won a silver medal in the mixed doubles at the National Senior Championships and a gold medal in the Women's British League for finishing top of the player averages.
Emma says: "]I am currently training at my club Draycott and Long Eaton on a regular basis throughout the week, but also partake in training at the University of Nottingham.
"I am ranked sixth in the England senior women, but have aspirations to improve my ranking this year.
"One of my main focuses for this season is competing for my club in Malmo, Sweden in the Women's Elite League, and I will be travelling out there twice a month to train and compete.
"My aspirations for my career include competing in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Alongside my sport, I am also undertaking a PhD in sport psychology, researching the experiences of student-athletes in the UK."
