Ella Taylor-Tipton

Ella Taylor Tipton.

Ella is a 12-year-old skier from West Hallam and a student at Kirk Hallam Academy who claimed a bronze medal in the British Championships in the halfpipe in Switzerland and was fourth in slopestyle and fourth in rails for her Under-12 age category.

Ella says: "I am mainly a ski Slopestyle and Half Pipe competitior and I have been skiing since I was three years old. I started to compete in slalom racing when I was five years old in the Fun Races and won my first national when I was nine years old... but my heart is in freestyle skiing.

"Over the next year, I will be taking my tricks from the dryslopes of the UK to the snow kickers of the mountains and work on improving the tricks I already do, making them smoother and more stylish.

"A sponsored rider at The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead, I will be training there during the months to work on snow. I will also be training on dryslopes up and down the UK and these will help me prepare for the competitions over the next year.

"I have some Park and Pipe training sessions coming up with Snowsports England and hopefully I will be going to train in the mountains a week before The British Championships at Laax next year.

"My aims and ambitions are to better the podium standings I have had in the past and pass on the love of freestyle skiing and how much fun it is. My ultimate goal is to compete for my Country at an Olympic Games."
