Amber Valley Disability Sports and Leisure Development Group
Welcome to Amber Valley Disability Sports and Leisure Development Group.
The purpose of the group is to develop Disability Sporting and Leisure opportunities for both mainstream and specific activities. It will support existing organisations, help develop new clubs, associations and activities within AmberValley.
Objectives
- To represent the views and needs of the members of the Amber Valley Disability Sports and Leisure Development Group by providing interactive communications between strategic sports/leisure bodies, such as the Derbyshire Peak Park Sports Forum, Sports England, Amber Valley Borough Council, Specific Forums, Schools, Special Schools, Day Care Centres, Community Leisure Development Groups and any Agency involved in Disability Sports/Leisure Development.
- Help develop Sporting/Leisure opportunities from participation to excellence.
- Facilitate advice on sourcing of funding for facilities, obtaining further equipment, coaching and training resources for members of the Disability Sports/Leisure Group.
- Sharing of good practice, improve communications, liaison channels and pass on understanding to others.
- Supporting existing organisations.
- Developing new clubs and associations.
- Provide advice on the availability of Coaching Education.
- Increase awareness of existing Sporting/Leisure opportunities within AmberValley.
- Consult member agencies on potential Sporting/Leisure opportunities.
