Derbyshire Sport Trust
A registered charity
The Derbyshire Sport Trust is a registered charity, which aims to increase participation in sport and active recreation in Derbyshire. The Trust seeks to maximise investment into the delivery of the Plan for Sport and Active Recreation in Derbyshire.
Current priorities are to support Derbyshire's talented athletes to achieve their full potential and to use the power of sport to address social and health inequalities.
The Trust has delivered a number of successful projects and is currently providing Adapted Physical Activity training (funded by the Big Lottery's Awards for All programme) to help volunteers provide more inclusive activities for people with disabilities.
Current projects include 'This Girl Can Coach' (funded by Sport England), which is helping to train women coaches to deliver new sport sessions. And, 'Lets Go Ride a Bike' (funded by the Morrison's Foundation), to help more disabled people to take part in cycling.
