The Derbyshire Institute of Sport (DIS) facility at the University of Derby is a purpose-built training environment for high performance sport.
Predominantly free-weight based, the facility has six fully equipped lifting platforms as well as open space for assistance exercise along with excellent access to 3G astroturf and grassed outdoor areas.
From its inception, this facility was designed to cater for young talented athlete development and, as such, has a range of specialised equipment to support this, including an array of low-load training bars and plates.
This facility is open access to DIS athletes from Monday to Thursday between 4pm and 8pm, and is fully staffed by highly qualified and experienced strength and conditioning coaches.
