Community Sport Networks (CSNs) provide local coordination between all the agencies that have an interest or involvement in increasing participation in sport and active recreation, particularly for ages 16 and above.
In the county, CSNs are active in the following local authority areas:
Amber Valley (Amber Valley Active)
Bolsover (Bolsover Sport)
Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire
Erewash
High Peak
South Derbyshire (South Derbyshire Sport)
The partners that are represented on the CSNs operating in the county include the local authority sport development, leisure centre managers, NHS Derbyshire, school sports partnerships, the youth service, Higher Education/Further Education, Council for Voluntary Services, regeneration and community safety organisations.
Within the county each CSN is working to:
Increase by one per cent, year on year, the number of over 16s who engage in at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity level sport or active recreation at least three times per week with particular emphasis on under represented groups
To achieve this each CSN has produced an action plan and sources funding and resources to deliver the key actions that it believes will make a difference in their patch.
