Step into Sport Conferences 2005

The Conferences

Local Step into Sport Conferences are being held across Derbyshire in established School Sport Partnership localities (Derby City East and West and Derbyshire Dales) aimed at preparing young volunteers enrolled on the programme for their voluntary placements:

At the Step into Sport conferences students will have the opportunity to take National Governing Body awards, Sports Coach UK courses, receive Volunteer portfolio’s in order to log their voluntary hours, receive Step into Sport kit, meet the clubs they will take up a volunteer placement in, meet lots of new people including a secret guest speaker who will enthuse students on the benefits of volunteering.

There will be opportunities for the young volunteers to further develop their sporting skills and qualifications through National Governing Body Awards, Sports Coach UK workshops and other accredited/non accredited courses during their volunteer placements.

Six students will be selected to represent Derbyshire at a regional Step into Sport residential at Loughborough Universitey - March 21st to 24th 2005.
