Funding Advice

There are many reasons why you might need to raise funds - perhaps for training courses, new kit, improvements to your coaching programme, or facilities.

You can fundraise in many ways:

  • Events, sponsorship and training fees

  • 100ís club, raffles etc.

  • Grant applications: lottery, Community Foundations, NGB or trust funds.

Derbyshire Sport has a Funding Officer, who can offer advice on available grants such as the Derbyshire County Council Sport Action Grant. For more details visit our Funding section (opens in a new window).

If your club wants to raise money and save money, consider becoming a registered Community Amateur Sports Club.

Registering as a Community Amateur Sports Club can provide a range of benefits for community clubs, including reduced rates and the ability to claim Gift Aid. For more details go to www.cascinfo.co.uk (opens in a new window)

The RFU has a useful section on its website, www.rfu.com (opens in a new window), where you can find out more about becoming a CASC.

You can also get useful information on raising funds through your local Council for Voluntary Service (opens in a new window).
