15-year-old judo player Charlie, from Swanwick Hall School, won the British Judo Championships at Cadet Under-18 level aged 14. Charlie, from Riddings, was also selected for the England Talent Development Squad.
Charlie says: "I started judo at five years of age, and went into my first competition on my eighth birthday. I won all my comps in 2010 and in 2011 I competed in the Tori International Open in Belgium and returned with a gold medal.
"All the hard training started to pay off in the British Open Championships when I fought boys from London to Scotland and after five fights was champion.
"In 2012, I was undefeated, winning the Sovereign Cup in Belgiuim and also the British Weightlifting championships, scoring 35 points out of 36.
"In 2014, I went on to win over 100 fights, winning The British Schools and British Open Sportive International, which I was pleased to win as it was a very high standard.
"Between 2015 and 2016, I have gained a place on the England talent development squad and also the GB Strategy Pogramme."
