The 22-year-old track and cross country competitor, from Killamarsh, is a student at New Mexico University. She won a team bronze medal in the USA NCAA Cross Country Championships for the university athletics team, the New Mexico Lobos.
Calli says: "I am currently in training for the cross country season so have increased my mileage to 70 per week.
"A typical week's training includes a 12-mile run on Sundays, several steady eight mile runs and a tempo run at a fast pace for six to eight miles and weights twice a week. My hardest session is a typical block of eight x 1000m, with one minute recovery.
"My goals for this cross country season are to hopefully win the NCAA title in America for my New Mexico team and to gain selection for the European Under-23 championships for Great Britain.
"My indoor track aim is to make the finals of the 3000m NCAA Championships. For the outdoor track season, I hope to reach the NCAA finals in America over 5000m and then compete in the British Olympic trials. To make it to Rio would be a dream come true.
If I don't, then the 2020 Olympics are a long term goal. Along the way, I want to compete in the World Athletics Championships on home soil in London in 2017 over 5000m or 10000m."
