The 13-year-old skier, from Hathersage and a student at Hope Valley College, is a member of the Sharks Ski Club in Sheffield who has been selected for the England Moguls Academy by Snowsports England.
Ben says: I currently compete in the Slopestyle and Moguls events, however, it is in Moguls where I have had most of my success and am fortunate enough to have been selected for the England Moguls Development Squad.
"I have won medals in my age categories on several occasions during the 2014-5 competition year.
In preparation for the 2015-6 season I visited Poland in August to train and practice on the water ramps (big ski jumps where you practice and land in water).
"In October I trained with the England squad in the resort of Kapun, Austria. This was a full week of training on the snow. The week was really hard work, however, my coaches were pleased with my development.
"I train on the moguls every two weeks at Castleford, and every month at Manchester. Unfortunately, as moguls are not very popular in the UK, this is as much training on the bumps as I can currently attend.
"In addition to this, I train once or twice a week at either Castleford or Stoke. These sessions are practice for my freestyle and slopestyle skiing.
I will be training and competing abroad in February, March and April. I will then hopefully get more water ramp training next summer, followed by more summer skiing on the glaciers.
"I am really grateful for the support that Derbyshire ICON are giving me."
