The 40-year-old, from Tansley and a member of the Two Dales Club, won gold medals at the National Indoor Championships (640kg and 680kg) and a gold and silver at the National Outdoor Championships (catchweight and 640kg).
Alec says: "I'm keen to build on key successes of last year, which included a silver medal at the UK indoor Tug of War Championships, a gold and silver medal at the English National Championships, representing England at the European Outdoor Tug of War competitions in Belfast and winning a gold medal in the European Outdoor Club competition.
"I am currently training hard for the upcoming National Indoor Championships in December 2015, where I hope to be part of the team chosen to represent England at the World Indoor Tug of War Championships in Holland in February 2016.
"I am currently training two nights per week with the team, compete every Sunday and, along with this, I do a lot of running. As the National Championships draw closer my focus will turn to a weight loss programme to achieve my allocated weight for the team.
"I will be losing 12kg before the National Championships, while still maintaining good muscle condition with a high protein diet. The team is also looking into different kinds of rubber to attach to their pulling shoes to gain that extra advantage in competition.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved with the ICON scheme for their continued and much valued support."
