The 14-year-old canoeist, from Chapel-en-le-Frith, is a pupil at Chapel-en-le-Frith High School. He competes in canoe slalom K1 and C1 and is a member of the Northern Super Regional Squad, which is part of the England talent Programme.
Alastair says: "I have competed at canoe slalom races throughout 2015 all across the UK, climbing up the rankings in my division by 99 places during the season, from 128 to 29.
"I train five times a week and often on weekends, which includes gym sessions, a flat water session, and white water session in Nottingham at Holme Pierrepoont National Water Sports Centre.
"I am aiming to get into Prem, the top division in the sport, and to then progress up the ranking. I have also recently taken part in the British Open on October 31 and November 1, which was held in London at the 2012 Olympic course.
"I have entered into all the events next race season in order to maximise my chances of getting the required points to get into Prem, with the with the first one being in March in London."
