At the Forum Meeting on the 21st October 2004, the draft Strategic Framework document was presented. Following further comments, the document has been amended and agreed by partner organisations.

Throughout the consultation process we asked how the Partnership could work in the future, how different organisations from around the County and Region could help the process and how everyone can keep connected. All comments have been collated and can be downloaded in MS Word format from here.


At the Forum Meeting on 20th July 2004, the following principles for the County Sports Partnership were agreed:

Purpose:

To work together to improve the quality of life for the people of Derbyshire through sport and active recreation.

To make sure that sport is a part of everybody’s life.

The Role of the County Sports Partnership will be to provide strategic leadership by:

A Model for Development:

An outline model for structuring the Partnership was also agreed which focuses on the development of Local Sports Partnerships (Area Forums) which bring together the Community, Education and Sports Sectors to plan and co-ordinate resources at a District or Local Strategic Partnership level. The County role would then be as detailed above, and to communicate with other county and regional strategic bodies to promote the value of sport and influence policy.

The Strategy and Management Group, Leadership Group and Development Group will meet over the coming months to develop proposals for progressing the work further. It is intended that decisions on structure, membership and resourcing of the Partnership will be made at the October Forum Event.
